Croxley Rail Link to be cheaper alternative to HS2

High Speed 2
I am supporting an idea of the London Underground Metropolitan line to be extended to Watford Junction. Although the existing Watford station would be closed, there will be many benefits: - Quicker access to Birmingham from Chesham, Croxley and all train stations between Aylesbury Vale Parkway and North Harrow, by getting the Croxley Rail Link to Watford Junction and then using the existing London - Birmingham line from there
- It will allow new proposed stations at Ascot Road and Watford Hospital,...

68% of us don't want HS2 to go across the Chilterns

High Speed 2
According to a current poll on the Buckinghamshire Examiner website ( www.buckinghamshireexaminer.co.uk), 68% of us have answered 'No' in a poll which asks 'Do you support plans for a high speed rail link to whizz trains through the Chilterns on their way from London to the Midlands?' This has made us more confident about stopping HS2, although the poll only asks if people want HS2 to go across the Chilterns, and not if they support the whole idea. Go to http://www.buckinghamshireexaminer.co.u... Continue reading ...
HS2 to cost £1 billion before work even starts

High Speed 2
New figures show High Speed 2 is set to cost the Government £1 billion before any contruction work begins. The figures, revealed under the Freedom of Information Act, have been attacked by anti-HS2 protesters in Bucks. Campaigners have long argued that the business case has not been made for the £34 billion high speed rail project and wanted to find out how much HS2 Ltd had already spent on the link through the Chilterns. The Government has already spent more than £88 million including both r... Continue reading ...

School
Ed, Chris and Alex have already had Wednesday 4th and Thursday 5th January off school due to wind damage. There were high winds in Amersham on Tuesday 3rd January which tore off materials on the roof of the school hall at Dr Challoner's Grammar School. The term was supposed to start on Wednesday 4th January, but it is currently unsafe on the school site. "We cannot go to school because the loose material on top of the school hall may blow off and potentially cause injury. Construction workers... Continue reading ...

Proposal for Croxley Rail Link means getting to Birmingham quicker
I have heard about a proposal for the LU Metropolitan Line to be extended from Croxley to Watford Junction. We are in favour of this proposal. Here is what that section of the Metropolitan Line would look like if the extension went ahead:
This could make it quicker for people to get to Birmingham from Chesham, Amersham, Little Chalfont, Chorleywood, Rickmansworth, Moor Park, Northwood, Northwood Hills, Pinner, North Harrow, Harrow-on-the-Hill, Northwick Park, Preston Road, Wembley Park, Cr... Continue reading ...

Ed goes on first high speed rail link to see the Gadget Show LIVE 2011
Ed, the manager of the Junior Bucks Stop HS2 Organization, went on the first high speed rail link up to The NEC in Birmingham to see the Gadget Show LIVE 2011 over the weekend. He said "The first high speed rail link between London and Birmingham only took 1hr 10 mins on the way and 1hr 30 mins on the way back. The time went very quickly and there is no good reason for a new high speed rail link. A lot of countryside had already had to be destroyed to build the first high speed rail link and ...
